The Academic

See college life for yourself in the summer 2020 novel SPRINT DREAMS. Learn More here.

The two years as a graduate student in the University of Connecticut's Department of Communications, ranked sixth in research schools, were two of the most difficult years in Faith's academic and personal life. Balancing the intense requirements of graduate courses and the responsibilities of a teacher's assistant often seemed impossible, especially while continuing to train as a post-collegiate track and field athlete. However, those two years focusing on Marketing Communications and media's influence on the representation and psychology of student-athletes of color allowed Faith to see the experiences of student-athletes and people of marginalized groups from different perspectives.
